Text Analytics Tab

View comment data from open-ended questions, including sentiment breakdowns, AI-generated summaries, and key topics, and use filters to explore feedback and engagement insights.

The Text Analytics tab lists all open-ended questions on the survey, including the number of comments and sentiment distribution for each question. Gallup categorizes comments into four sentiment groups: positive, negative, neutral (neither positive nor negative), and mixed (positive and negative). To view specific counts for each sentiment type, position your mouse cursor over a question's sentiment distribution bar.

Click a question to view its details, including an AI-generated summary of the question's comments, summary and detail information by topic, individual comments, and engagement index data if the survey includes the Q12 Mean index (i.e., Gallup's Q¹² items).

Note: Sentiment data and AI-generated summaries require at least 50 comments. Topics and their data require at least 250 comments. Percent engaged data require at least 30 comments, while percent not engaged and percent actively disengaged data require at least 100 comments.

When viewing a question's details, the Overview tab provides an AI-generated summary of all comments to the selected question, and the Comments tab lists all comments. If the survey includes the Q12 Mean index (i.e., Gallup's Q¹² items), there is also an Engagement Index tab showing the percentage of respondents who are engaged, not engaged, or actively disengaged.

If topic data are available, the left side of the page lists the topics Gallup identified from all comments using natural language processing and topic modeling, sorted by frequency. If a topic has numerous comments, more specific subtopics are also available, which you can view by clicking the expand symbol (>).
