Can I use a screen reader to complete the CliftonStrengths assessment?

Yes - the CliftonStrengths assessment can be completed using a screen reader.

Screen Reader Compatibility

Our websites and assessments are tested regularly with popular screen readers, including JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver. These evaluations are part of our annual accessibility audits, led by Gallup’s Accessibility Team.

How are assessment questions read?

The CliftonStrengths assessment uses paired comparison statements, which are read in a specific order to preserve clarity and intent. When using JAWS, for example, a question may be read like this:

"Please choose which describes you best. I like cookies. I like brownies. 5 radio button options: I like cookies strongly describes me, I like cookies slightly describes me, Neutral, I like brownies slightly describes me, I like brownies strongly describes me."
